Fired For Caring Over Quaker Chewy Bars

I was appalled to hear Matthews story, please help support him in his petition.

“Here’s a “good for you” snack, according to its manufacturer, Quaker Oats, a subsidiary of PepsiCo. Granola bars enjoy a health halo due to the fact that they are from “granola”. From the box:

Good source of calcium (10% of daily value per 40 grams). 0g Trans fat (See nutrition facts for saturated fat content). Great taste and Quaker goodness rolled into every bar. Quaker Chewy Granola Bars are made with the goodness of Quaker Oats.

Quaker Chewy Granola bars are now made without high fructose corn syrup.

With all these advantages, is this a product a healthful, wholesome snack or is it closer to a candy bar?” Source and more info about Quaker  Chewy Bars

Matthew was concerned about the Quaker Chewy Bar the boy he was assisting was eating, and the potential adverse affects it could have on the health of this young man and the assistance Matthew was trying to provide. Matthew mentioned Monsanto in an email to his supervisor on Friday and was unfairly dismissed by top brass on Monday. Matthew was asking for advice from his employer on how to approach the parent of a child he was assisting in his role as a Community Habilitator for SKIP (Sick Kids Need Involved People).

Clearly he is asking if it is appropriate to approach the subject of the questionable ingredients in the bar he was asked to provide for this boy. Firing someone for asking a question such as this is rather heavy-handed and arrogant on his employers behalf. Responding to Matthew that it is the company policy to not offer advice in matters such as this.

Matthew has a petition on seeking reinstatement, if you would like more information please click here
